This project aims to develop a community-informed and scientifically-based adaptation pathway to increase the resiliency of Dauphin Island, an Alabama barrier island.

Status: Maintained

An adaptation pathway evaluates different strategies for preventing barrier island breaching during hurricanes as sea levels rise (e.g., beach nourishment, seawall, etc.). The strategies are then arranged based on cost and effectiveness at preventing breaching as sea levels rise. With this, communities can adjust resilience actions based on observed sea levels!
