Biography:

Carey Schafer is currently working as a Science Policy Fellow with the National Academies from September 2020 to August 2021. As a fellow she splits her time between PLACE: SLR and the US Fish and Wildlife Service. As a member of the PLACE team, Carey has helped to plan and facilitate workshops, write manuscripts and extension publications, and lead stakeholder engagement efforts on a variety of projects. Carey earned her M.S. in Marine Science from the University of South Florida College of Marine Science and her B.S. in Environmental Science from Tulane University.

Carey has spent the night in all 50 states – no drive-throughs allowed!
